A facade proposal for an existing housing complex in Izmir: diagonal balconies, steel mesh and loft units that give a plain building movement and depth.
Two linked blocks carry two distinct but related facade designs. The client wanted a facade that was both functional and striking, so we put "complexity" and "movement" first. Balconies step in and out on the diagonal to create rhythm; a steel mesh system adds a textured surface that changes with the light; and lofts added to some flats give the facade layers and depth.
