An existing building converted into a geriatric centre for older people in need of care. Patient rooms and social spaces were rethought around comfort, ergonomics and daylight.

High-ceilinged dining and sitting hall with table groups and large windows.

We reorganised and restructured the existing building to create a geriatric centre. Patients' comfort and needs came first: the ergonomics and usability of each room were planned individually, and dedicated social spaces were designed where residents can spend time together. The plan is set out around the patient rooms, so that every room is used to the full.

Windows were chosen to fill the interior with daylight. In the patient rooms and social spaces alike, each is positioned to make the most of natural light by day and to offer a comfortable view at night. The facade was designed to sit coherently within its surroundings.
